While this group is for emotional support primarily, we will discuss everything--strategies, tips, and skills you will need going forward to survive, navigate, and thrive in this new chapter of your life.
Typically, my groups consist of four women plus me and we meet virtually on a weekly basis for 1.5-2 hours. At each meeting, everyone who wants to can share and receive feedback for twenty minutes. I also offer thinking/writing prompts and book recommendations for the following weeks.

*A support group is a group of people with common experiences or concerns who provide each other with encouragement, comfort, and advice. A Life Coach helps clients ina support group reach their potentials collectively by engaging the group around a set of goals.
*My groups generally run with four to six members. Each member is allowed 15-20 minutes to talk and receive feedback.
*The first day is always introductory. Members are expected to give basic information about themselves. There is no need to prepare anything in advance, as I ask questions to help members tell or expand upon their stories.
*I appreciate everyone showing up to meetings on time for the duration of the group. Everything shared must be considered strictly confidential. When it is not your turn to speak and receive feedback, your role is to listen carefully to others and give respectful, non-judgmental feedback, as members have unique experiences, backgrounds, values, and priorities.
*Generally, people like to talk without interruption for a period before receiving comments. This rule gets more relaxed as members get more comfortable with one another.
*Any comment or question that reflects attentive listening, empathy, and curiosity is best. Any comment that projects an assignment of shame or guilt would be inappropriate.
*A support group is not a replacement for individual work with a Life Coach or Therapist. You will not receive a diagnosis or get extensive one-on-one support. Many people benefit from participating in both a group and individual settings. I offer reasonably priced private sessions for anyone interesting in working with me separately.
*As a “Narrative Life Coach,” and based on my personal experience processing a traumatic event through writing, I believe that many people can benefit from such a practice. Before the second meeting, and for all others going forward, I offer broadly posed, thematic questions and/or exercises to reflect upon or write about every week. I may also offer reading suggestions. Members are welcome to work on and share their responses to prompts or readings, but it is not required.
